Your security comes first.

Money Watchmen is built to receive read-only, permissioned financial data. It cannot move money, and it never sees your bank password.

Read-only access

Money Watchmen receives permissioned transaction data through Plaid. It has no ability to transfer money, pay bills, or change anything in your accounts.

Secure account linking

Supported accounts are linked through Plaid, the same service used by thousands of financial apps. You sign in with your bank directly — we never receive or store your bank password.

Minimal data, encrypted at rest

We never store full account or card numbers — only the last four digits. The tokens that let us read your transactions are encrypted in our database, and your data is never sold.

You stay in control

Disconnect any institution at any time. Export your data. Delete your Money Watchmen account whenever you like — we’ll remove your financial connections and purge your transaction data.

Can Money Watchmen move my money?
No. Our connection is read-only. We can see transaction activity on the accounts you connect; we cannot transfer, withdraw, or pay anything.
Do you see my bank password?
No. You sign in with your bank inside Plaid’s secure window. Your credentials go to your bank, not to us, and we never store them.
Do you sell my financial data?
No. We use your transaction data for one purpose: watching for unusual activity on your behalf.
What happens if a connection expires?
Banks occasionally require you to sign in again. When that happens we text and email you a reconnect link. Nothing changes in your account; monitoring simply pauses until you reconnect.
What do Trusted Contacts see?
Only what you allow: the merchant, the amount, and why we noticed it. Never account numbers, never your password, never your full history.
How is my data protected?
Encrypted connections (TLS), encrypted provider tokens at rest, masked account numbers, rate-limited sign-in with a text-message code, and a full audit log of sensitive actions.
