These terms govern your use of Money Watchmen. By creating an account you agree to them.
What Money Watchmen is — and isn’t
Money Watchmen is an informational monitoring service. We review transaction activity on the accounts you connect and alert you when something looks unusual. Money Watchmen is not a bank, is not an insurer, and does not guarantee that it will identify every unauthorized or fraudulent transaction. Alerts are informational; you remain responsible for reviewing your accounts and for contacting your financial institution about any transaction you don’t recognize.
Your account
- You must be 18 or older and provide accurate information.
- Keep your security codes private. We will never ask you for a code, and there is no password for anyone to ask for.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
Connected accounts
You authorize us to receive read-only transaction data from the institutions you connect through Plaid. We cannot move money. You can disconnect an institution at any time. Data availability depends on your institution and on Plaid; monitoring may be delayed or paused if a connection needs to be re-authorized.
Trusted Contacts
If you add a Trusted Contact, you confirm you have their permission for us to contact them and you choose what they receive. They will never receive your credentials, full account numbers, or complete financial history.
Membership and billing
Money Watchmen costs $14.99 per month, billed in advance through Stripe. You can cancel at any time from your settings or by contacting us; monitoring continues through the end of the period you have paid for. If a payment fails we will let you know and give you time to update your payment method before monitoring pauses.
Money Watchmen SMS Program
If you provide your mobile number and affirmatively opt in to text messages, Money Watchmen may send you transactional and service-related SMS messages concerning your Money Watchmen account and services.
Messages may include unusual financial activity alerts, account and security notifications, connected-account or reconnection notices, alert confirmations, support communications, and other important service-related messages. This is a service program, not a marketing program.

- Reply HELP for help.
- Reply STOP to cancel or opt out of Money Watchmen text messages at any time. After you opt out we will use email for alerts and account notices.

Consent to receive text messages is not required as a condition of purchasing Money Watchmen. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
If you change or deactivate the mobile number associated with your Money Watchmen account, you are responsible for updating your contact information. Your participation in the Money Watchmen SMS program is also subject to our Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
Don’t use the service for accounts you aren’t authorized to access, attempt to interfere with the service, or use it for any unlawful purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Money Watchmen is provided “as is,” and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for losses arising from transactions we did not identify, delays in data from your institution, or actions you take in response to an alert.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms; we will notify you of material changes. Either of us may end your membership at any time. On termination we disconnect your institutions and handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
